“Heal”
Mourning my life
Shedding my skin
Holding onto the hope
I don’t quite believe in
Leaving room for improvement
Fingertips reaching for yours
I have to look inward
To heal all of these scars
Truth is fluid
Events are scrambled
I want to be better
I want to be honest
Love is explosive
Life is constant
Wondering what you’re doing
I have to look within
I can’t control
I can’t contain
I have to become better
So I can begin
Letting go of people
Who left me on the street
Hoping tomorrow is better
And I can stand on my own two feet
Praying my children will grow up
To know I was good
And always tried my best
I’ll love you forever
Cross my heart
Marching toward death
Healing is harder
When you’ve lived through
So many fires
Tomorrow is coming
Time never stops
Become who I should be
Even though they wouldn’t let me
I can’t change my thoughts
But I can change my methods
Of convincing everyone I wasn’t wrong
It doesn’t matter anymore
When no one was ever listening
Healing is silent
It must be done alone
The hardest part
Is never knowing
If I’m finally home
