“A Little Help”
Sometimes we have to face our demons
Give them a name
Tell friends things
That could turn them away
But the ones who count
Pull us back up
Straighten halos
We had forgotten about
We talk about high school
All the things we achieved
And the greater things we lost
The bullies who tried to destroy us
The family members who torment us
The lovers who lied to cover their tracks
We remember teenage girls
With big time dreams
And small town hearts
Knowing the fight isn’t over
But we’ve got someone in our corner
Sometimes all we need
Is a little help from our friends
