When I met him he was shaking telling me about his wars with china
He grabbed onto my trauma
We bonded instantly
Asking to hold my hand
I noticed flags green and red
But he had a man inside who could take down my demons
They fought back
And tore us back down
He checked out
And let them win
Fine
But then he continued
Blaming me for the pain
Blaming me for reactions to all the harmful sins
He committed
He took me to far off lands and told me trust him
Completely
So I did
He took me around bad men
I couldn’t abide
I begged to be released from the duty
So he blackened my eyes
Then I ran
He called up my demons
Told them I was bad
They said “yes, we’ve been saying”
And he went for a ride
Justifying improprieties
Affairs in the dark
So he came after me with fangs
Told me I was crazy quite possibly insane
Like demons before
Who took my good name
But I’m just and I’m righteous
And he knows in his bones
So he rubbed my face in the shit he was doing
I called him out
In vain
I’ll admit it
I was a fool for thinking bad men
Can become good men
At the whim of an unwanted daughter
But I seek truth through the pain
The only healing I’ve known
Forsaken by most
But seen by the few
Who matter
Who seek justice
I’ll forgive you
Just say my name
In repentance
In God’s holy name
