“Feminism”
We are told we are being bitches for asking to be equal
We can work what more do we want
But men beat us and we become bad for saying it out loud
Men use us and act like it’s their right to have our bodies as a playground
Men provide for us only to act like we owe them silence and acceptance of every evil deed
I’ve begged to have my belongings returned
I’ve been told to let it go and move on
Is that what they would say to him
I’ve told the truth about what happened and everyone blocked me
I’ve asked for help getting my feet on the ground
And everyone told me it was my own fault for trusting he’d do what he said
I was put into a box
He opened it and said he’d rescue me
I believed him
I’m bad for doing so
He galavants around Thailand with a new prostitute rubbing it in my face
Calling me crazy
While he keeps all I have left in the world locked in his safe
While he texts me that he misses making love to me
While he won’t admit he gave me a black eye and made me deaf in one ear
I’m scolded for not moving past this
While I was left with nothing
Because it’s all in his name
While I hope he’ll feel bad and say sorry
He promised to keep me safe and I’m the fool for believing
I’m claiming victimhood because I’m bleeding out on the floor
This world is an odd place
I don’t think I like it here much at all
